Lindsay qualified as a Solicitor in 1990, and started working in the field of Mental Health law in 1995. She has been an accredited member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel continuously since then, becoming a Law Society Assessor for the scheme in 2000
From 1998 until joining Gledhill Gill Solicitors, Lindsay ran her own practice representing clients at Tribunal hearings, Hospital Managers’ hearings and Care Programme Approach Reviews, and advising patients and families regarding mental health and mental capacity law
Appointed as a Judge in the Mental Health Review Tribunal (now the First Tier Tribunal, Mental Health) in 1999, Lindsay continues to sit as a part time judge in locations where she does not also represent clients
Lindsay was a Lead Commissioner for the Mental Health Act Commission from 1999 until 2004, and during this period conducted inspections and enquiries concerning mental health hospitals throughout that period
Lindsay is a member of the MHLA, and is able to advise and represent clients throughout the East Anglian region having a base in Cambridge
